I drew this for You

As I drew this, I thought about You. About Us.
About that time that we…
.
.
.
I wonder, right now, who is reading this poem and thinking that it’s about them.
I hope you know, that it’s about you.
In reality, this poem is about my mom. I thought about her as I was drawing this and how I should send this to her. I think she’d like that.
But, I also thought about my friend who loves Spring flowers and I thought “Ooo she’d probably like this, too.”
It made me think about the time that we has a photoshoot in a wildflower garden.
And it also makes me think about You.
About what we had and what we lost.
And, right now, I hope that every person reading this thinks this poem is about them. Because, in reality, it is.
As I drew this I thought about the whole world. And You’re included in that. Just because I don’t know you doesn’t mean that I don’t think about You. And, when “I think about that time that we…” - know that you’re included in that.
There’s a world in which I can see You as a part of the We and I think about that. Which means I think about you (a lot).
And in all honestly, I think the world needs that right now
A little more You are Me and there’s Us in We. A little more collective thought and collective care.
As I drew this I thought about writing a letter to You. On the back of this drawing and telling you how much I love you.
And I wish I had so many to send because how can I pick just one to I say I love you to…
I wish I could copy this and send it to every single person in the whole world so everyone could open their mail with with a little bit of light. And a little bit of surprise. And likely a little bit of “what the heck is this?!”.
That’s okay.
So even though I can only send this to one person, know that I drew this for You.
